Alzheimer's Day Services of Memphis 
The mission of Alzheimer's Day Services of Memphis is to help persons with Alzheimer's Disease and related disorders live their lives with dignity and respect while providing relief to their caregivers and support for their families. There are ongoing volunteer opportunities, including: activities associate, companion, clutter controller, office apprentice, rations runner, yard guard, and special events. Business Learning Center Volunteer 
Tutor business and accounting in the Business Learning Center in Fogelman rm 256. BLC hours are Monday through Thursday 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM.

Service Requirements
All members and candidates are required to complete a minimum of 8 hours of community service each semester, including 2 hours of tutoring (in the Business Learning Center or at an elementary school). Additional hours (as well as matching professional and service hours) will go toward achieving "Distinguished," "Superior," or "Gold." Service and professional hours requirements are summarized here.




Make sure to bring your service form to document your volunteer hours. After your form is signed and completed, it should be submitted to Co-Recording Secretaries Matthew Teal or Sarah Lawrence at the following Beta Alpha Psi meeting or sent to them via email at mteal@memphis.edu or sglwrnce@memphis.edu

Important Note About Tutoring: 
Sign-ups must be completed two weeks in advance. Only two BAP candidates/members may tutor at a time. BAP tutors may only tutor for one hour at a time. Please visit the following link to sign-up.

Service Events

​Spooky Nights
Volunteers have the opportunity to volunteer with the spooky nights event either as a general volunteer or dress up and be an actor for the haunted parts. These events are multiple days through the month of October. If you volunteer as an actor than there is an additional training required, but this can be added to your volunteer hours. Zoo Boo
Volunteers have the opportunity to help with the Zoo Boo at the Memphis Zoo. This event raises money for the Le Bonheur Hospital. Volunteers will help with crafts and handing out candy. Service on Saturday
This is an event through the University of Memphis where volunteers will have the opportunity to sign-up online to volunteer at one of the listed organizations. The date for this is October 24th from 8:30 to 1:00. When the link becomes available to sign-up it will be posted on the Google Docs page. Harvest Festival at the Botanic Gardens
Volunteers will assist students attending this fall festival with discovery, craft and teaching stations. Stations will include pumpkin decorating, haystack, corn hush history, seed dispersal, fruit and vegetable game, and much more! Volunteers will be stationed with another instructor and scripts will be provided one week before event. This event is on October 20th and 26th from 9:30-12:30. Please sign-up on the google docs page by October 13th, and in the date column please indicate which day you will be volunteering. You may also sign up for more than one day, but only 10 people can be signed up per day.

​Habitat for Humanity
Volunteers will help clean, mop, and move furniture for the Habitat for Humanity Restore. Habitat for Humanity ReStore Location: 7130 Winchester Rd, Memphis, TN 38125. These are the following available dates: October 13th 9am-1pm or 1pm-5pm; October 14th 1-5pm. Please sign-up on the Google Docs by October 11th.
